Does leap year mean I actually get to relax on February 29th?
You know...because it's not really a day...
I didn't think so, but hey, I love to daydream about taking a break and relaxing. You know, turning off the computer, the radio, light a few candles, pour a glass of wine...and just relax and not think about business or anything else.
It's a great technique, because ten minutes later I feel like I actually got to be in that fantasy. It's very "Calgon, take me away!" *grin*
For ease of newsletter use, you can use the links below to skip to a certain section of the newsletter in case you know some of what I'm about to tell you already.
I should have the final manuscript back from the editor tomorrow, and my designer is busy working his magic on my book cover.
The book will be offered in two formats. Digital download via .pdf as well as a paperback book. Either way you get the same great book, it just depends on how you want to receive the information.
What I need now are a few good affiliates.
For those of you that don't know, being an affiliate is sort of like getting commission. I'm willing to give away a full fifty percent of every digital download of the book you can sell.
That's because you have access to people I don't. You have a list of people that you're going to tell about our fabulous launch party that I'm 90% sure is going to be held at the Holiday Club. (Because I'm all about that lounge-retro feel and I think we will create a great party there!) I'm looking to firm up details this week with the club.
When you send the invite (that I'll even write .. you can just tweak it to make it sound like your own .. that way it's easier than you having to write it from scratch!) you can also provide your very special link and when someone buys the book using your link, you'll get 50% of that sale.
How many other people do you know that would love you enough to give you money as a way of saying thanks for telling your friends about the awesome book?
Don't worry about it just yet, because I have to get the cover and formatting finished. I just wanted you to have a heads up that you're part of this amazing process. We'll even have a badge you can put up on your website that will also use your special fifty percent link so if people buy the book from your website...you make money!
Based on the sheer volume of things I need to do that are really basic in the world of Internet marketing, I'm looking for an intern to help me with all of it.
It will be a basic three month internship and you can find more details as well as how to apply here. If you know someone that has been wanting to work from home, or if you are looking for better Internet marketing skills, or even if you're just looking to be able to add marketing to your skillset...this might be for you!
Toward the end of winter, people start "phoning it in" - they just aren't in the mood to network as much and start daydreaming of not having to wear the winter coat and earmuffs to networking events.
Don't stop! There is some really good networking coming up really soon!
For example, on Feb 29th I'm going to be attending a great charity event, and I'd love it if you came out. If you do make sure to find me and say "Hi!"
Tickets are only $30 - I say only because where else can you get 3 hours open bar, food, & a great silent auction!
Even better, you get to go home after an open bar and great food and tell everyone it was all to benefit UCAN (Uhlich Children's Advantage Network) because you're that awesome benefit sponsoring guy or gal!!

Feeling overwhelmed?
A virtual assistant is a great solution!
If you have been wanting to get some help in your business or personal life, but think that hiring a personal assistant isn't possible...think again!

Most good employees want to be full time employees. When you hire a Virtual Assistant that is an independent contractor, you don't have to worry about them moving on if you only need them for 20 hours a month! Use as much or as little help as you need to, without worrying about unemployment or other taxes.
Virtual Staff, Inc. has an amazing array of Virtual Assistants that can help you with everything from logo design to brochure design, to website creation and maintenance, to scheduling to accounts payable and receivable...they can even make sales calls or advertising spot calls on your behalf.
Grow your business smarter, not harder. Send me an email and we can set up a time to talk. You know I'm not all about the hard sell, so you don't even have to be shy or worry I'm going to push something on you. I would never do that to you!
I'm not getting a lot of requests to be in the newsletter this time around. That makes me sad. You don't have anything you would like to share? My goal is to create true value in each newsletter. I like to share the love with all of you!
So instead of having network news this week, I have a question for you - what would you like to see in the newsletter next time? I'm open to suggestions.
Okay, I lied. I have two questions...the second one is... (drum roll please) do you like the idea of the Holiday Club for the launch party? Do you have alternate suggestions? I have northside and southside that will be attending so I'm trying to have it in the city somewhere and the Holiday Club is right off of LSD on Irving Park...so its convenient.
Besides, look at the sign...you can't miss it! So less people will get lost *laugh*
For those of you that do not know, the background on that sign is very gold and VERY sparkly. So much loungy love I don't know what to do with myself.
We're toying with the idea of doing karaoke. Would you enjoy singing songs from the 30s-40s-50s (and hey, maybe even 60s...I'm open!)
I want this to be a blast for everyone, so let me know what you think.
If you have any other suggestions - I'm all ears!
Send pictures and text via email to jennifer@marketingcurve.com or via cell phone (you roving reporter you!) to 708.224.9560 and they will go in the next issue.
You can also send info about upcoming networking events and I'll send them out to the group in the next randomly scheduled newsletter!
